Site Overview
- Search View
- The Search View provides end users with a quick way to search for assets using the same searching power that exists within the Digital Asset Management application.
- It allows users to create and save custom searches, create personal collections of assets, and keep track of all your recent searches.
- Browse View
- The Browse View provides end users with a way to navigate the Appliance server easily within a web browser.
- It will also let end users keep their workspace organized.
- Users will also be able to create shortcuts to folders as well as keep track of their browsing history.
- Processing View
- The Processing View will allow users to see the progress of actions that occur within the Source Controller application.
- It will also allow users to reprocess actions should the need arise.
- Notifications View
- The Notifications View provides end users with a way quickly and easily keep track of what is happening with specific assets within the application.
- Messages
- The Messages button allows end users to stay in the loop with actions that change the searching or browsing perspective.
- Some examples of changes that would trigger a message to appear would be file or folder renames.
- Glue
- The Glue button lets the end user know if they have the desktop application Glue running on their workstation.
- It will also help the end user know whether or not they are running the most up-to-date version of the application.

- Saved Searches
- Clicking on a link in the Saved Searches panel will run the corresponding saved search.
- Default System Searches
- Watched Items
- Checked Out
- Unlinked Files
- Conflicted Files
- This is the only global system search that will return all conflicted files.
- All the other global searches only return assets based on the user’s preferences.
- Custom Saved Searches
- This search is available for all users by default.

- Grid View
- The grid view will display all assets in a grid formation.
- Users will have the ability to dynamically resize the previews using the slider in the upper right hand corner of the Search Results Panel.
- List View
- The list view will display all assets along with a few details related to the asset.
- Users will also be able to resize the preview of the assets in this view using the slider.
- Coverflow View
- The coverflow view will mimic the coverflow view that exists within iTunes and other Mac centric software.
- To scroll through the large previews, users will scroll left and right on the scroll bar, or click on the preview of the image they wish to see.

- Details Tab: displays a preview of the working version and provides users with a way to perform both Source Controller and Glue actions on the version.
- Version Preview
- Source Controller Actions
- Watch / Stop Watching: Allows the user to keep track of all actions that are performed on a specific asset.
- Unlink / Link: Allows the administrator to break all links to the working version of the asset so that users who are directly linking to the file in InDesign, or other Adobe products, cannot package the file they are working on and send it off to the printers.
- Stored Only in Collective / Distribute to Appliance: Allows administrators to save space on the Appliance server by only storing the file within the Collective. The assets will still be searchable within Source Controller, they will just not be stored locally.
- Delete: Removes the asset from Source Controller permanently.
- Glue File Actions
- Glue file actions allow users to run custom scripts on the Adobe applications.
- They also allow users to perform other actions on the appliance server such as reveal files on the appliance server without having to navigate to them.
- Check Out / Check In / Undo Check Out

- Version History
- Users will see all of the actions that have happened with that version of the asset.
- Versions Tab
- Version Previews
- Available in DAM / Hide in DAM
- Allows users to determine whether or not any of the versions of the asset appear in Digital Asset Management when a user performs a search.
- Make Working Version
- Allows users to make any of the versions of an asset the version that should be replicated to the appliance server.
- This allows users to work on older versions of an asset should an administrator decide they wish to use the older version over a newer one.
- Download version not on Appliance
- Allows users to gain access to a version of an asset that is not stored on the appliance.
- Version History
- Same as the version history in the Asset Panel.
- Details Tab: displays a preview of the working version and provides users with a way to perform both Source Controller and Glue actions on the version.

- Find and Replace Rename Functionality
- Allows users to be able to find and replace specific characters that all of the assets have in common.

- Collective Root
- The Collective Root will provide the user with a way to navigate through the folders on the appliance server within Source Controller.
- Workspace Root
- The Workspace Root will provide the user with a way to keep track of files and allow them to add or check-in new versions of files.
- Shortcut
- Allows a user to quickly access their desired folder without having to navigate to it.
- To delete the Shortcut, click on the X next to the folder name.
- Recent Folder History
- Allows the user to see all of the folders they have recently visited in one area.
- Collective Root

- Browsing Results Panel
- Folder Breadcrumbs
- Allows the user to see where they are in the folder path.
- Breadcrumbs are also clickable links that will navigate the user to the folder that was clicked.
- Browse Results
- Displays all of the folders and assets stored on the appliance for the selected folder.

- Add Files
- Allows the user to add new files to Source Controller.
- This action will display all workspace files that are eligible to be added to the application.
- Remove Folder
- Deletes the folder and all folders and files within the selected folder.

- Users will see all of the actions that have happened with the selected folder.

- Unchecking the box for completed will hide all actions which have a status of "Completed."

- Unchecking the box for completed will hide all actions which have a status of "Queued."

- Clicking on the [Reprocess Selected Erred Items] button will attempt to rerun the action that failed.
- Remove Selected Erred Items
- Clicking on the [Remove Selected Erred Items] button will remove the failed line item for your processing list.

- Watched Assets List
- Clicking on the name of any of the assets in the Watched Assets List will highlight the associated lines in the Notifications Panel.
- Clicking on the X next to the asset’s name in the Watched Assets List will remove the asset from your watched assets list.

- Unchecking this box will hide all unread notifications in the Notifications Panel

- Unchecking this box will hide all read notifications in the Notifications Panel
